Prenatal rhesus prophylaxis with FastQ® RHD fetal (RUO)
In almost 40 % of all cases, rhesus prophylaxis is not necessary in RhD-negative pregnant women because the foetus id RhD negative, too. Expensive and difficult to obtain anti-D immunoglobulins are administered unnecessarily.
Now, with the use of modern non-invasive molecular fetal diagnostics via PCR typing, dedicated anti-D prophylaxis is possible with the new FastQ® RHD fetal real-time Kit. The kit reliably detects the RhD status of the foetus: By detecting the three exons 5, 7 and 10, the probability of a false negative result is extremely low.
Since 1 July 2021, the molecular prenatal determination has also been included in the EBM (GOP 01788 / GOP 01869) as a health insurance benefit in Germany.
