    Simple workflow

    Ready-to-use standard reagents and a one-step PCR run provide rapid results. The kits also include a control of a human universally expressed gene to help verify that sufficient cellular material is present in the sample for meaningful results.

    The three fluorescent dyes used are compatible with the common real-time cyclers – tested on QuantStudio 6 (Thermo Fiscer Scientific), CFX 96TM (Bio-Rad) and Lightcycler® 480 (Roche).

    The evaluation is performed via the hardware manufacturer's software.

    There is one kit size for 100 tests and one for 500 tests.

    The test should be able to be performed with all RNA isolation kits. We tested the kit with the isolation kits from Qiagen and Sigma-Aldrich.

    The test runs on common real-time cyclers. Only RNA isolation kits are required.

    • RT-PCR reaction tubes with caps or foils

    • DEPC H2O / Aqua dest. / WFI (Ampuwa®)

    • Piston pipettes (0,5 – 1000 μl) and tips

    There is no need for a software, the labs do an excel based data analysis based on CT values.

    So far, we tested nasopharyngeal swabs at BAG and in customer labs.

    Blood and stool samples have a higher risk of PCR failure due to "common inhibitors" and usually lower virus titres and are, therefore, not recommended.

    The test is CE IVD certified.

    We have an extensive stock. In addition, thanks to short lead times, we can also realize larger orders in about 3 to 4 weeks.

    As an alternative to our real-time PCR test, you can use our SARS-CoV-2 antigen rapid test. By taking a nasal swab (which should always be prepared by qualified personnel), a result can be read quickly and easily on site within 15 minutes.
    Important: Depending on the time of the swab, a negative result does not completely exclude an infection. However, a positive result indicates an infection and should be verified by PCR testing. As access control to vulnerable groups of people and in areas with many contact points, the rapid test is therefore an ideal indicator.

    Currently, we have focused on the detection of COVID-19, as it is detectable immediately after infection. This allows us to very quickly localize infected persons as carriers of the virus. Antibodies are built at the earliest from the second week of infection. Therefore, these tests are not effective in the first, highly infectious phase of the disease.

    However, we are working with partners on a rapid antibody test. This is intended to identify recovered patients reliably. The same applies to the estimated number of untested persons who have produced antibodies with only minor symptoms or without findings and are therefore immunized.

    The larger hospitals have an automated PCR analysis line. We took this into consideration during development.

    Since the typical automated liquid handling (ALH) systems are very flexible, the kit runs on the most common ALH or integrated automated PCR assay systems such as Qiasymphony and Hologic.

    According to current experience, an infection with SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) causes only common cold symptoms in four out of five infections. However, in patients with a weakened immune system or corresponding chronic illnesses, disease patterns with a more serious course – even death – can occur. If the virus spreads too quickly, intensive medical care for patients cannot be guaranteed throughout the country.

    Against the massive spread of the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, our reliable CE IVD certified ViroQ® SARS-CoV-2 rapid test helps to locate infected persons safely. This is the only way to prevent the unchecked spread of the virus.

    Variant of SARS-CoV-2 Omicron / B.1.1.529 is also covered by our ViroQ® kits.

    Fast and valid results

    False negative results, due to insufficient sampling with too little cell material, are excluded by this test. In the ViroQ® and ViroQ® Rapid tests, the detection of a human, universally occurring gene in cells shows whether sufficient cell material is available for valid results.

    We have also thought about the logistics costs: To keep them as low as possible, both test kits can be shipped uncooled. A control temperature of -20 degrees Celsius is only necessary during storage.

    Independent of supplier

    With our kits you remain independent of dedicated providers – they work with common RNA-Isolation kits and common real time cyclers. The test results are available in only 90 minutes – with ViroQ® Rapid SARS-CoV-2 (thanks to the optimized PCR protocol) in less than 60 minutes.

    Fast one-step real-time PCR

    The ViroQ®-Line is designed for specific detection of viral RNA gene E and RdRP of SARS-CoV-2 in respiratory samples. In our test kits the RNA from SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) is converted to cDNA in a one-step PCR procedure. This cDNA is then amplified in the same real-time PCR protocol.

    The kit consists of the following components:

    1. tube Mastermix: transcription + amplification
    2. tube Reconstitution buffer
    3. tube Primer-Probe Mixture:

    Colour 1: Virus gene 1 (FAM)
    Colour 2: Virus gene 2 (HEX)
    Colour 3: Cell control (CFR610) (housekeeping gene)
    4. tube Positive Control (SARS-CoV-2 Positive Control)
