SARS-CoV-2 Antigen Rapid Test
Instant answers right on the spot!
Increased protection of vulnerable groups - more control over infection events.
Fast on-site testing against the dangerous Corona virus is particularly useful for protecting people at high risk (e.g. seniors, previously ill people) and in situations with many contact points (e.g. surgeries, clinics, authorities, schools, airports, railroads, large companies) or after stays in risk zones. The aim is to reduce the risk of transmission of the virus by the persons tested.
Therefore, in addition to our one-step PCR test ViroQ Rapid SARS-CoV-2, we provide a qualitative antigen test in our portfolio for rapid on-site testing. As the sample is taken with a swab from the anterior nasal cavity only, the application is uncomplicated and painless. Thanks to the test card, the evaluation is intuitive.
The test detects acute infection using antibodies against the nucleocapsid protein of the SARS-CoV-2 virus in the sample. Results are available after about 15 minutes. No laboratory equipment is required for the test procedure and evaluation. The kits are stored in sealed units for 24 months and should be kept away from light at 2°~30°. After opening the package, the tests should be performed within one hour.
The test is available in two versions:
25 test cards and 2 vials with sample treatment solution for testing several persons in one place
25 test cards and 25 vials with sample treatment solution for single tests
Important: The result from the test shows a momentary result. At an early stage of infection, a low viral load can be expected, as well as from the second week after the onset of symptoms. Therefore, a negative result does not completely rule out infection. A positive result, on the other hand, suggests infection and should be verified by PCR testing.
"Why SARS-CoV-2 Antigen Rapid? To identify people potentially infected with SARS-CoV-2 in the field, an antigen test provides rapid results without blocking important laboratory resources. Especially for the protection of vulnerable groups of people or at sites with a high frequency of contact, the antigen test can thus make an important contribution to the containment of the pandemic."
Qualified staff for correct sampling
With a diagnostic sensitivity of 92% compared to the PCR test, the test has a high sensitivity. For samples with a high viral load, the sensitivity is even higher: 95% for Ct ≤ 32 and 97% for Ct ≤ 25.
The anterio nasal test is performed gently by swabbing the anterior nasal cavity. However, a correctly taken nasal swab is essential for a reliable result. Therefore, the rapid antigen test must only be performed by medical professionals or specially trained multipliers.
The test includes a positive control band to demonstrate that sufficient sample was available and that the test was performed properly.
During sampling and application of the swab, direct contact with the sample must be avoided at all costs and appropriate hygiene measures must be observed.
- results directly on site - no laboratory resources required
- fast answers - evaluation in approx. 15 minutes
- included quality control area - testing of sample quality
- easy handling, ready-to-use tests
- low logistic costs - transport and storage at room temperature
Components included in the kit
The kit consists of test cards, instructions for use and sample treatment solution. In addition, swabs for sample collection can be ordered.
To obtain reliable results as quickly as possible, a careful nasal swab in the anterior nasal cavity (only 2.5 cm insertion depth) is required.
The actual test is simple:
