Apollo has landed – new production system for HISTO SPOT® HLA AB Kits

Due to the high global demand for 2025, we are expanding production capacity for our HISTO SPOT® HLA AB kits in transplantation diagnostics. As part of our successful all-in-one system, these kits are used for the automated identification and monitoring of HLA antibodies.

Aspart of this expansion, we have equipped our laboratories with a HISTO SPOT® HLA AB production system from SCIENION. The automated sciFLEXARRAYER SX i for the miniaturisation and multiplexing of our assays is ideally suited for high-throughput production. The consistent reproducibility from batch to batch, the fast array printing of 140 slides or 27 MTPs per batch and the reliability, as well as the experience with the system, have convinced us of SCIENION's capabilities.

The system was installed on schedule at the end of August and – after the successful completion of the site acceptance test of the SX system – trial operation commenced. Our four-person team of experts has already been able to run through extensive user cases in a two-day training session. Now, the qualification of the Apollo production system is on the agenda for the fourth quarter.
